The purpose of this memorandum is to notify you that the DoW Office of Inspector General is initiating the subject audit.* We are conducting this audit in response to a management request from the U.S. Special Operations Command. The objective of this audit is to determine the adequacy of base operating support for U.S. Special Operations Forces operating in support of geographic combatant commands. We may revise the objective as the audit proceeds, and we will also consider suggestions from management for additional or revised objectives. We plan to perform this audit in accordance with the Government Accountability Office’s generally accepted government auditing standards.
