Project Announcement: Evaluation of the DoD’s Use of the Civil Reserve Air Fleet in Support of Afghanistan Noncombatant Evacuation Operations (Project No. D2022-DEV0PC-0032.000)

We plan to begin the subject evaluation in November 2021. The objective of this evaluation is to determine the extent to which the U.S. Transportation Command planned and used the Civil Reserve Air Fleet in support of noncombatant evacuation operations in Afghanistan in accordance with public law, and DoD and Service policies. We may revise the objective as the evaluation proceeds, and we will also consider suggestions from management for additional or revised objectives.

The objective of this evaluation was to determine whether the U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) tracked and reported potentially concussive events (PCEs) and DoD Service members involved in PCEs in order to provide the Joint Trauma Analysis and Prevention of Injury in Combat (JTAPIC) Program Office with PCE data to conduct actionable analysis to prevent or mitigate traumatic brain injuries (TBIs).

We plan to begin the subject evaluation in November 2021. The objective of this evaluation is to determine the extent to which the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Armed Overwatch program is meeting established (operational and mission) program requirements. This evaluation will focus on USSOCOM, the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), the United States Air Forces Special Operations Command (USAFSOC), and other DoD Components that are supporting the procurement and development of the Armed Overwatch program. We will consider suggestions from management on additional or revised objectives.
