The objective of this audit is to determine whether the DoD has effective and compliant processes and procedures for addressing U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) information requests.
We conducted this audit in response to a congressional mandate established in Conference Report 118‑301 to accompany the FY 2024 National Defense Authorization Act. The mandated irected us to review the processes and procedures by which the DoD evaluates, responds to, complies with, or denies GAO information requests and the consistency of such processes and procedures with the authorities granted to the Comptroller General of the United States under section 716, title 31, United States Code (31 U.S.C. § 716).
