We conducted the “Audit of DoD Reporting on Obligations and Expenditures in Support of Operation Allies Welcome” (Project No. D2022-D000FI 0095.000) to provide an understanding of the financial reporting for OAR and OAW.

Review of the Military Services’ Policies and Procedures on the Medical Waiver Process for Recruiting (DODIG-2023-072)

The Army, Navy, Air Force, and U.S. Military Entrance Processing Command agreed to address the recommendations in this report. Therefore, we consider the recommendations resolved and open. Although the Marine Corps agreed to the recommendation in this report, comments from the Commanding General of the Marine Corps Recruiting Command did not fully address the recommendation; therefore, that recommendation is unresolved.

Audit of the Oversight of ENCORE III Information Technology Service Task Orders (DODIG-2023-067)

The objective of this audit was to determine whether DoD Components performed oversight of task orders issued under the Defense Information Systems Agency’s (DISA) ENCORE III information technology service contract in accordance with Federal and DoD guidance. We reviewed a sample of five task orders awarded by DISA, U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), and Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) contracting officers.

Project Announcement: Audit of Air Force Defective Parts and Contractor Restitution (Project No. D2023D000AX-0112.000)

The purpose of this memorandum is to notify you that we plan to begin the subject audit in April 2023. The objective of this audit is to determine whether the Air Force has effective controls and procedures to identify and remove from the DoD supply chain defective spare parts provided by contractors and to obtain restitution from the contractors that provided the defective spare parts. We may revise the objective as the audit proceeds, and we will also consider suggestions from management for additional or revised objectives. We plan to perform the audit in accordance with the Government Accountability Office’s generally accepted government auditing standards.

Evaluation of the DoD’s Management of Traumatic Brain Injury (DODIG-2023-059)

The objective of this evaluation was to determine the extent to which the Defense Health Agency and Military Service medical departments implemented policies and procedures and provided oversight to ensure that Service members who experienced a traumatic brain injury (TBI) were identified and screened to determine their appropriate level of care. In addition, we determined the extent to which the U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) Service Components screened, identified, and documented signs and symptoms of TBIs.
