Project Announcement: Audit of the DoD's Compliance With the Berry Amendment (Project No. D2019-D000AV-0193.000)

We plan to begin the subject audit in August 2019. The audit is mandated under section 2533a, title 10 United States Code. The objective of this audit is to determine whether the Military Services and the Defense Logistics Agency complied with the Berry Amendment for DoD procurements and acquisitions when purchasing materials and supplies. We will consider suggestions from management on additional or revised objectives.

Our objective is to determine whether DoD and military medical treatment facility management properly trained personnel, conducted inspections and program reviews, and accounted for inventory levels for the safety and security of radioactive materials. Project Announcement: Evaluation of DoD Enhanced End-Use Monitoring for Equipment Transferred to the Government of Ukraine (Project No. D2019-DEVOPB-0169.000)

We plan to begin this evaluation in July 2019. Our objective is to determine whether the DoD's transfer to the Government of Ukraine military equipment requiring enhanced end-use monitoring (EEUM), such as Javelin missiles, Javelin Command Launch Units, night vision devices, or any other EEUM item, is in accordance with law and DoD guidance. In addition, we will determine whether Ukraine's security and accountability of the EEUM military equipment meet the criteria prescribed by law and regulation. We will consider suggestions from management on additional or revised objectives.
