Mission

Administrative Investigations (AI) helps ensure ethical conduct throughout the DoW by conducting investigations and overseeing DoW Component investigations of allegations of misconduct by senior DoW officials, whistleblower reprisal, and Service member restriction from communication with an IG or Member of Congress.  AI also manages the DoD Hotline and the Contractor Disclosure Program, provides education and training on whistleblower protections through its Whistleblower Protection Coordinator, and facilitates voluntary resolution of whistleblower reprisal allegations through its Alternative Dispute Resolution program.

The Department of War Office of Inspector General initiated this administrative investigation into multiple allegations against Ms. Gilmore involving behavior toward her subordinates.

We conducted this investigation in response to a reprisal complaint alleging that: (Subject 1) and [Redacted] discouraged the Complainant from speaking with a sexual assault response coordinator (SARC).

Whistleblower Reprisal Investigation, U.S. Army Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Fort Irwin, California (Report No. DOWIG-2026-082)

We conducted this investigation in response to a reprisal complaint alleging that Subject 1 and Subject 2 took multiple personnel actions against the Complainant in reprisal for making protected disclosures to Fort Irwin personnel.

Whistleblower Reprisal Investigation Goldbelt Integrated Logistics Services, LLC Crane, Indiana (Report No. DODIG-2026-062)

We conducted this investigation in response to a reprisal complaint alleging that a U.S. Government civilian employee directed Goldbelt Integrated Logistics Services, LLC (GBILS) to remove a contractor employee from a government contract after the contractor employee made protected disclosures during a U.S. Navy investigation against the civilian employee.

The DoD Office of Inspector General initiated an investigation into U.S. Army Major General Antonio A. Aguto Jr., former Commander of Security Assistance Group-Ukraine, Operation ATLANTIC RESOLVE, on June 6, 2024. This action followed the receipt of three anonymous complaints between May 20 and May 24, 2024.
