Last week, Deputy Inspector General (IG) Troy Meyer joined a delegation from the Offices of Inspector General (OIGs) for the Department of State (State) and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to visit the U.S. Mission to the European Union, headquarters for the European Union, and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
During the visit, Deputy IG Meyer met with U.S. stakeholders and European partners to discuss international efforts related to research, development, and production of military equipment and aid to Ukraine. Deputy IG Meyer also engaged with the U.S. National Military Representative to the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe to discuss DoD operations related to Ukraine security assistance.
These discussions provided real-time information and insights from stakeholders directly involved in the execution of aid to Ukraine, and will help the DoD Office of Inspector General identify oversight opportunities in areas of high risk.
The joint trip also facilitated further coordination between the DoD, State, and USAID OIGs regarding oversight of critical areas where the activities of their respective agencies overlap.
