Mission
To provide timely, independent, and objective legal counsel and advice to the DoD Inspector General and the Office of Inspector General (OIG).
OGC Teams
The OGC is composed of the General Counsel, the Deputy General Counsel, Senior Associate General Counsels, Associate General Counsels, Administrative and Legal Support Specialists, and Legal Interns. The office covers the following areas of law:

- Lead Inspector General and Overseas Contingency Operations
Ethics Program
As the Designated Agency Ethics Official (DAEO), the General Counsel is the senior ethics official in the OIG. The OIG Ethics Program is managed by the Office of General Counsel (OGC).
FOIA, Privacy and Civil Liberties Office
The DoD OIG Freedom of Information Act, Privacy and Civil Liberties Office is managed and supported by the Office of General Counsel.
