DoD Joint Inspector General Program
The DoD Joint IG Program enhances oversight of the Department by coordinating efforts and strengthening interagency relationships. DoD OIG’s Joint Inspector General Activities Division interfaces with Joint/Defense IGs worldwide while interpreting and advising on doctrine and procedures; managing the Joint IG qualification courses, conducting mobile training teams and staff assistance visits; and overseeing and maintaining policy and doctrine impacting Defense/Joint IGs. We share your goals to support the warfighters, increase mission readiness, and combat fraud, waste, and abuse. Mission
Institutionalize the professionalism of the DoD Joint/Defense Inspectors General through the development and implementation of standardized functions, methodology, and processes with the intent to unify oversight efforts throughout the department.
Responsibilities:

Assists the Joint and Defense IGs by coordinating and clarifying DoD policy, issuing implementing instructions, and resolving conflicting or inconsistent IG policy involving Joint/Defense IG duties, responsibilities, and functions.

Develop, coordinate, conduct, and provide training and set qualification standards regarding Joint/Defense IG duties, responsibilities, functions, procedures, and standards.

Assist, coordinate, and integrate appropriate IG matters with the Joint/Defense IGs and the Military Department IGs.
