The objective of this audit was to determine whether Combined Security Transition Command– Afghanistan’s (CSTC A) implementation of the Core Inventory Management System (CoreIMS) has improved weapon and vehicle accountability in Afghanistan since 2016. Our audit focused on Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) weapon and vehicle records maintained in CoreIMS from August 2016 through August 2019.

Project Announcement: Evaluation of DoD Lifetime Buys of Parts Used in Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Systems (Project No. D2020-DEV0SI-0131.000)

We plan to begin the subject evaluation in May 2020. The objective of this evaluation is to determine whether DoD Components are complying with DoD policy and guidance when conducting lifetime buys of parts used in Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems and whether the use of lifetime buys reduces DoD supply chain risks. We may revise the objective as the evaluation proceeds, and we will also consider suggestions from management for additional or revised objectives.

Evaluation of the United States Air Force Enterprise Ground Services (DODIG-2020-074)

The Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Space Policy requested that the DoD OIG evaluate the status of Air Force efforts to develop the Enterprise Ground Services (EGS). The objective of the evaluation was to determine whether the Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) developed a plan to implement EGS. We also reviewed the status of the AFSPC’s effort to implement the mandatory use of EGS by December 2028.
