The purpose of this memorandum is to notify you that we plan to begin the subject audit in October 2023. This audit is the first in an anticipated series of audits that will address the DoD’s implementation of the Zero Trust Architecture. The objective of this audit is to assess the DoD’s progress in identifying, authorizing, authenticating, and monitoring users on DoD networks in accordance with the DoD’s Zero Trust Strategy. We may revise the objective as the audit proceeds, and we will also consider suggestions from management on additional or revised objectives. We plan to perform this audit in accordance with the Government Accountability
Office’s generally accepted government auditing standards.
