Who May File a Complaint?

Any employee, former employee, or applicant of the Department of Defense, Office of Inspector General (DoD OIG) who feels that he/she has been discriminated against may file an EEO complaint. The alleged discrimination must be on the basis of race, color, sex (to include sexual harassment, pregnancy, transgender, and gender identity), disability, age (40 or older), sexual orientation, national origin, religion, or genetic information. The EEO regulations prohibit discrimination on any of these bases, as well as retaliation of any kind for engaging in activities protected by the civil rights statutes or prior EEO activities.

What are the time limits for filing?

An informal complaint must be filed within 45 calendar days of the alleged discriminatory act, event, or the effective date of an alleged discriminatory personnel action. An informal complaint must be filed before a formal complaint can be made.

Where should I file my complaint?

Any employee, former employee, or applicant of the Department of Defense, Office of Inspector General (DoD OIG) may file his/her complaint with the DoD OIG Equal Employment Opportunity Office located at 4800 Mark Center Drive, 12E24, Alexandria, Virginia 22350-1500.
