Audit of U.S. Africa Command’s Execution of Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act Funding (DODIG-2022-080)

The objective of this audit was to determine whether U.S. Africa Command (USAFRICOM), U.S. Indo Pacific Command, and U.S. Southern Command officials used Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding to support the coronavirus disease–2019 (COVID 19) pandemic response and operations in accordance with Federal laws and DoD policies. This report focused on USAFRICOM’s execution of CARES Act funding. We will issue separate reports on the execution of CARES Act funding by the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command and the U.S. Southern Command. See Appendix A for details on the audit scope and methodology.

CUI is information created or possessed on behalf of the Government that requires safeguarding or dissemination controls according to applicable laws, regulations, and Government wide policies.

Evaluation of the Screening of Displaced Persons from Afghanistan (DODIG-2022-065)

The objective of this evaluation was to determine the extent to which the DoD managed and tracked displaced persons from Afghanistan through the biometric enrollment, screening, and vetting process. This final report provides the results of the DoD Office of Inspector General’s evaluation. We provided copies of the draft report and requested written comments on the recommendations. We considered management’s comments on the draft report when preparing the final report. These comments are included in the report.

This audit focused on the timeliness of the DoD FMS acquisition process and the accuracy of FMS acquisition data that the DoD reported to Congress.
