Revenues and Expenses from Reimbursable Activity for Other Defense Organizations

The primary audit objective was to determine the reliability of revenues and expenses from the sale of goods and services and reimbursements shown for "Other Defense Organizations" in the DoD consolidated financial statements for FY 1996. We also evaluated accounting policies for recording those revenues and expenses and the consistency of accounting and reporting among the various organizations submitting information to the Defense Finance and Accounting Service Indianapolis Center. In addition, we also reviewed internal controls as they applied to the audit objectives.

Moore's Cafeteria Services, Inc., Food Services Contracts

This is our final report on the Audit of Moore's Cafeteria Services, Inc., (Moore's) food services contracts, for your information and use. Comments on a draft of this report were considered in preparing the final report. The audit was made from January through June 1988. The overall objectives of the audit were to determine whether the contractor's claims and pricing proposals were valid and to determine whether prices paid by the Government were reasonable, and in accordance with applicable Government regulations and contract terms. Moore's was awarded 17 food services contracts at 15 military installations in the United States from 1982 through 1987 for a total of $35 million.
