Semiannual Report to Congress: April 1, 2017 through September 30, 2017

This report summarizes the work of the Department of Defense (DoD) Office of Inspector General (OIG) from April 1, 2017, through September 30, 2017. It identifies oversight conducted by the OIG during the past 6 months, which demonstrates the importance of our efforts to detect and deter fraud, waste, and abuse in DoD programs and operations; to seek to improve the economy, efficiency, and effectiveness of DoD programs; and to help ensure ethical conduct throughout the DoD.

Lead Inspector General for Operation Inherent Resolve | Quarterly Report to the United States Congress | July 1, 2017 - September 30, 2017

This is the 11th Lead Inspector General report to the United States Congress on Operation Inherent Resolve, the overseas contingency operation against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS). The report covers the period July 1, 2017, to September 30, 2017, and summarizes the quarter’s key events according to the five Strategic Oversight Areas adopted by the Lead IG agencies: Security, Governance and Civil Society, Stabilization, Support to Mission and Humanitarian Assistance.

DoD OIG Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey Results

This year, 486,105 employees responded to the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey out of the 1,068,151 to whom it was sent, for a response rate of 45.5 percent. In total, 747 Department of Defense Office of Inspector General employees completed the survey, for a response rate of 56.3 percent. This exceeds not only the government-wide response rate, but also the overall DoD response rate of 30.3 percent.

FY 2018 Comprehensive Oversight Plan for Overseas Contingency Operations

This FY 2018 Comprehensive Oversight Plan for Overseas Contingency Operations (COP–OCO) is the third annual joint strategic oversight plan submitted to Congress. This report describes the whole-of-government oversight of U.S. activities in support of the ongoing overseas contingency operations as well as other programs and activities in Southwest Asia.
